BRIAN BAKER – Chaplain

Brian was born and raised in Iowa and enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman. During the first Gulf War, while stationed in London, UK, he met his wife, Gabrielle, who was also serving in the Navy as a Radioman. The couple married in 1993, beginning their life together as a dedicated Navy family.
Throughout their time in the service, Brian and Gabrielle moved frequently, eventually being stationed in San Diego, CA. With no close friends or family nearby, Brian sought a sense of community and was drawn to Freemasonry. His Masonic journey began in 1997 when he joined El Cajon Lodge No. 576, now known as Heartland Lodge No. 576. He was raised to the degree of Master Mason in 1999 and affiliated with Scholfield Barracks Lodge in Hawaii the same year. Brian later joined the Scottish Rite, where he achieved the 32nd degree, and also became a Noble with the Aloha Shriners in Hawaii, expanding his involvement in the Masonic tradition.
While deployed with the Navy, Brian visited lodges across the world, including in Singapore, Australia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, further deepening his connection to the global Masonic brotherhood. Brian retired from the Navy in 2010 and became a founding member of Murrieta Lodge No. 869, later renamed Window Sons Lodge No. 869.
